Personally, I have grown to appreciate the eery overcast days. Why? Because it allows me to stay in my house, turn on the fireplace, clean, declutter, do paperwork, write checks, go on-line, and make phone calls–all activities I sometimes put off, due to the fact that I LIVE AT THE BEACH!! I enjoy gardening when the sun is out, never too hot, but always bright and cheerful. Riding my beach cruiser is really not an option when it is foggy–I just really like sunshine! Other folks in my area do not always agree with me–they enjoy hiking, biking, fishing, boating, etc., especially when it is overcast.
Overcast days are great for heading to Ventura’s Historic Downtown Cultural District, located in the quaint area of Main Street . Visit the many thrift stores , vintage shops and restaurants, or take in a movie at Century 10 Downtown Theater, with the comfy reclining seats. Plenty of photo-ops along the way, taking shots of Mission San Buenaventura, Mission by the Sea, and the local flavor of the vintage shops, museums, signs and anything else that catches your eye.
Ventura features Art Walks twice a year, and a variety of street fairs! You can always find local farmer’s markets every weekend, so, in closing, don’t let the few foggy days dampen your spirit! “The sun will come out tomorrow…”!
