I loved my very contemporary loft/condo in Sherman Oaks, view of the Hollywood Hills, and so convenient to stores, parks, malls, etc. So, why did I move to a manufactured home in a Senior Park in Ventura, miles from my old stomping grounds?
First of all, I had to finally consider myself a “Senior”…somehow I thought that meant I was ready for the rocking chair, and I was definitely not ready! Then I had to understand that there are beautiful manufactured home parks in lovely areas, and then there are the typical “trailer parks”, and there is a huge difference. Ventura Marina Senior Community is a gorgeous park across from the Ventura Harbor, offering 310 homes, ranging from the mid $200,000 up to $460,000! Not exactly a “trailer”! All of the homes are 2 or 3 bedrooms, many with decks facing either the ocean or the lake…yes, there is a beautiful lake right in the middle of the park! I live on the lake and have the enjoyment of the little ducks, Blue Herons, Snowy White Egrets, Sea Gulls, and an assortment of birds who sing their wake-up songs every morning! There is no smog, no congestion, no traffic, minimal crime, no long lines and lots of friendly people.
If you want to live a stress-free life close to the beach, take a weekend trip to Ventura, California, and check out the manufactured homes in the beautiful senior park in Ventura Senior Community, 1215 Anchors Way!
I left my condo in Sherman Oaks and never looked back. I do not miss the smog, the heat, the helicopters overhead almost every night, the congestion and long lines wherever I went. I love living in a Senior Park, so quiet and serene.
See you soon . . .
